Jose would come over and watch the ladies 

but never wanted to learn 

until a few months in 

and now she makes beautiful hats!! 

She is truly talented!!

Angel learned right before I left Rwanda so she only made one hat

 but its beautiful and has three colors!!!

Sifa

Sifa is a very young mama her little girl is just about two now!! 

Her hats have done well with selling 

she only has three left!!!

Annonsiate is a grandma is the community she made a few beautiful hats!!!

Evelyne

Evelyne is a single mama to two girls

 and has been truly blessed through compassion international! 

They are the only ones in the community who are ALWAYS in school

 because of compassion sponsorship program!! 

It was really neat to see her run into her house and bring out a stack of letters and photos of her daughters sponsors from Canada!! 

It was awesome to see the other end of how grateful the families truly are!!

Liliane

Liliane is a 23 year old mama to Shema! 

During the process of teaching these women to crochet 

we also go an opportunity to share Christ with them. 

We got to share our testimonies and share how our God is a redeeming God

 and He is just waiting for His kids to turn back and run toward him!

 Liliane had been dropping Shema, 

who is three, 

off at church every Sunday

 but didn't go in herself

 because of the guilt she felt for her actions. 

Through the course of being there and sharing 

she rededicated her life to Christ and is now going to church with Shema!!

Alice

Alice is a quick learner I taught her how to crochet the only way I knew

and then she learned another way from a friend

so hers look a bit different but they are equally beautiful!!

Hers tend to be more kids or teenagers sizes!!!

Jeannette

Jeannette is a mama of five children, 

she is the only one living in this community that has a husband. 

Her husband tends to play the Dad role for the twenty other kids in the community!! 

Jeannette was by far the quickest to pick up crocheting

 she only needed to be shown once and she had it! 

Some of her hats are kids and some are adults :) 

As you can see she was also most often seen with her youngest on her back!!
